Support and FAQ
Short answers to the questions people ask most. If yours is not here, the support route below is the place to send it.
Android app
How do I install the APK?
Download the APK from the download section, then open it. Android may ask you to allow installs from this source. Allow it, finish the install, and you can turn the setting off again afterwards.
How do I check the download?
The download section lists the SHA-256 checksum for version 1.0.1. After downloading, compare the checksum shown by your file manager with the one on the page. They should match exactly.
Why does Android say the app is blocked?
Because Rent Hub is installed outside Google Play, Play Protect may show a warning such as “unsafe app blocked” or “app not from a trusted source”. Tap More details, then Install anyway. The APK is release-signed; compare its SHA-256 with the value on the download page before installing.
Which Android versions are supported?
Android 7.0 and later. The app is about 72 MB and installs directly, without a store account.
Using Rent Hub
Is Rent Hub free?
Browsing and standard listings are free. Optional featured placement and boosts are paid. There are no agency fees on a standard listing.
How do inspections work?
Open a listing and pick a 15-minute inspection slot. The owner or agent sees the booking in their dashboard. You can cancel from your inspections page if plans change.
Why does a listing say Synced from Facebook?
It started as a post in the public Landlords and Tenants Direct Facebook group. An admin approved it before it appeared in Rent Hub, and the original author and link are kept with the listing.
How do I report a listing?
Use the report button on the listing page. Reports go to an admin queue. Choose the closest reason and add a short note if it helps.
Can agents list?
Yes. Agents get an Agent badge and the same listing and enquiry tools. A subscription is not needed to publish a listing.
iPhone and iPad
Where is the iOS app?
The iPhone and iPad app is built from the same Flutter codebase. A signed IPA is available in the download section. It is a distribution build signed by Arvion Technologies, not an App Store release.
How do I install the signed iOS IPA?
An iPhone will not install this IPA by tapping or dragging it. Use TestFlight: upload the IPA with the App Store Connect API key, invite testers by email, and they install through the TestFlight app. For direct installation without TestFlight, an Ad Hoc build is required, and each tester's device UDID must be registered in the Apple Developer portal first.
Is the iOS app on the App Store?
No. It is a signed test build only. Nothing has been submitted for App Store review or public release.
Web console
Do I need a separate web account?
No. The web console uses the same account as the app. Owners, agents and admins see different tools based on their role.
What is in the console?
Listings and lifecycle actions, the three-step create wizard, inspections, messages, and an admin area for Facebook sync, moderation, KYC and reports.
Account and privacy
How do I delete my account?
Contact support from the address in your account and ask for deletion. We will remove or anonymise your personal information where we can, and explain anything we need to keep for legal reasons.
Who can see my phone number?
Other users cannot see it in a listing or a chat. Rent Hub uses in-app messaging so you can deal with the owner without publishing a phone number.
Where can I read the privacy policy?
The privacy policy explains what is collected and why. The terms of use cover the marketplace rules.
